Performing magic tricks have always been an interesting yet risky activity. Many of the people believe that magicians are risk free people, and they do not care of their lives, but this is not so. 10. Sigmund Neuberger
Sigmund Neuberger was one of the highest paying magicians of Germany. He started his career as a magician in 1909 and within two years’ timeframe Sigmund was able to become the most famous magician of his time. Sigmund Neuberger died in May, 1911 when he was performing one of his signature fire tricks.
9. William Elsworth Robinson
William Elsworth Robinson was basically a Chinese resident. But the time he wanted to become a magician, he moved to America and started performing in different magical shows of national and international level. William died in a fateful accident in London during 1918 when he performed his bullet catching trick. He could not manage to save himself from the bullet of his own gun and died at the spot.
8. Joseph W. Burrus
At the age of 32, Joseph W. Burrus died of a Houdini accident. He was attempting to escape from his magical trick when he fall down to the earth from 9 ft height and buried alive under a deep layer of cement in 1992.
7. Jeff Rayburn Hooper
In 1984, Jeff Rayburn—a 24 years old magician died when he was trying to practice a magical trick of escaping through his self-made shackles. While he was performing this magical trick, the viewers thought that it was part of his trick, so no one came to help and save him at the spot. Unfortunately, as a result he drowned in the deep lake and died at the spot.
6. Royden Joseph Gilbert Raison De La Genesta
Royden Joseph was a well known American magician of 1920s. He was known to perform various magical tricks which were not only unique but also enough wonderful to keep the viewers occupied till the end of his show. Royden Joseph was unluckily died in 1930 when he was performing his signature trick. At the start, he tried to save himself from the water barrels he was in, but could not save himself, so he lost his breathes at the moment.
5. Janaka Basnayake
Unfortunately, Juanaka was one of the magicians who died during the performance of their magic tricks. His country of origin was Sri Lanka, but he moved to America during 2010 to become an expert magician. Two years after his arrival in America, he was buried alive in 2012 by his own family members during the performance of a magic trick. He could not manage to get out of the soil and wood in a timely manner and thus lost his life.
4. Dr. Vivian Hensley
Dr. Vivian Hensley was one of the amateur magicians who lost their lives while playing with dangerous blades. Using a very sharp blade was a part of his trick and this Australian magician lost his life when he was trying to swallow such a blade. Unfortunately, this blade cut his tongue and throat and the blood started shedding out. He kept on shouting but was not rescued at the spot so lost his life.
3. Benjamin Rucker
Unfortunately, Benjamin Rucker had a sudden heart attack and died a natural death. This happened at the time when this South African magician was performing his signature illusion in 1934. The trick was quite simple, but the sudden heart attack was what made him lose his life. No one came forward when he fall down to the stage, thinking that it was part of his trick.
2. Madame DeLinksy
Gun trick is one of the magical tricks in which the magicians pretend to be died of a shot by a gun. The same happened with Madame DeLinksy in 1820. He was performing a magical trick in Arnstadt Germany with a gun, which he was to fire and pretend to have died. Unluckily, the bullets were directed to his breasts, and he died at the spot because his abdomen was opened up all of a sudden. This made the people of the show terrified, and the management immediately buried him out.
1. Charles Rowen
Charles Rowen was a resident of South Africa. He was not only a magician but also an artist. It was part of his magical tricks to give a unique and awesome artistic touch to every trick he used to perform. Charles lost his life in 1930 when he was trying to attempt a very serious stunt. This stunt involved diving from a fast running car.
The accelerator of the car had a speed of 70 km per hour. Charles had only ten seconds to perform the trick, but all of a sudden he fall down and the car crossed up from his body. This scene was viewed by hundreds and thousands of people.
